Mark Holmes is Professor of Economics at the University of Waikato, and President of the New Zealand of Association of Economists. After receiving his PhD in Economics from the University of Dundee, he was previously employed at the Universities of Dundee and Loughborough. His research interests include applied macroeconomics and international finance as well as the behaviour of real estate and energy markets. Recent publications include studies of inflation targeting, productivity, current account sustainability and house price convergence. He has previously served as Editor-in-Chief of New Zealand Economic Papers.
